Getting Started in Photography - 10 Steps to Jump-Start Your Photography Business

Getting Started in Photography - 10 Steps to Jump-Start Your Photography Business

Jump Starter

Here are ten key steps to start and grow a profitable, debt-free photography business.

1. Practice!  Keep a camera with you all of the time.  Study other photographers and try to emulate images that you love.  Spend time learning basic and advanced image editing.  Learn your camera in and out, and practice with settings and modes that you don't normally use.  Take advantage of free and low cost photography blogs and web sites.  Consider joining PPA, WPPI, SEP or a local photography group or club.  Make a list of 50 things you want to do with your photography and try to cross of one item each week.

2. Define Your Business. Create a business name and get some cards printed up.  You can get several hundred cards for under .  Do your web research to make sure you aren't choosing a name that is already used.

3. Define Your Finances. Get a separate business checking account.  You will want to completely separate your business financial activities from your personal finances.  Get online banking so you can check your balances.  Keep a spreadsheet at home or use a program like Quicken to track and record your expenses.

4. Get online.  Hosting a website is not expensive.  You can purchase great photography web templates for under 0.  Create and feed a blog.  Get on Facebook and create a business page.  Search for and join web-based business locators like Merchant Circle and Google Local Listings.  Create coupons and special offers to draw in customers.

5. Define your target market, both geographically and demographically.  What kind of work do you want to be known for?  Seniors?  Weddings? Landscape?  What other work would you take?  Draw three columns on a sheet of paper.  In the first, note the kind of work you would love to do; in the second, what you would be OK doing, and in the third, what you would rather not do.  It will help you formulate your mission and marketing messages.

6. Set Your Prices. Define your value proposition to your customers.  You can't give work away, or undercut everyone, or you'll go out of business.  If you factor in your time and the cost of everything to keep your business running once you get established, you will understand why prints cost what they do from other professionals.  Benchmark your competition and understand their pricing and offerings.  It's better to be in their range but not highest or lowest as you are getting started.  If you price cheap, people will undervalue your contributions and as you grow it will be harder to command the prices you need to be profitable.  It's OK and expected to change pricing.

7. Spread the word.  Read "Guerilla Marketing" books by Jay Levinson, and "Purple Cow" by Seth Godin.  Blog like crazy.  Study "Search Engine Optimization" to make your web's page rank higher.  Look for ways to generate publicity.  Approach family, friends, co-workers and people in church for special "starter" sessions.  Offer your customers rewards for referrals.

8. Develop Partnerships.  Create cooperative relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, schools, churches and other organizations.  Become their "go-to" person for event photography and promotional photography.  Donate sessions, products and gift certificates to fund-raising auctions and galas.  Get to know the leaders in your community and find ways to make them successful and visible through your work.

9. Grow your business debt-free.  Create a list of the hardware, software and purchased services that you would like to have.  Price them out and rank them in order of your need.  Only buy them when your business bank account allows it.  Make sure you have reserves in the account to cover samples, upcoming fees and taxes and insurance.  If you devote a high percentage of your first few years profits into growing your business assets, you will be able to stay debt-free and keep the business growing, while still taking some profit each year.

10. Pay your Bills.  Make sure you collect and pay sales and use tax.  Retain and pay quarterly federal and state taxes if appropriate.  Have the right amount of liability insurance.  Keep good records of mileage, supplies, prints, office expenses, education, advertising and any other expense category that would count as business expenses.

What about equipment?  Of course you will need a camera and other equipment, but don't assume you need to run out and get the latest and greatest SLR and lighting systems.  Start small, with your current camera or an older model picked up off of Craigslist or other used gear source.  Add some inexpensive reflectors and/or home-grown lights to start with.  As you earn money, you can work your way through your list, and you'll appreciate every new piece of gear even more.  The same goes for software.  Free, open source image-editing software such as The GIMP is a great way to get started.  Corel's Paint Shop Pro is also excellent and very reasonably priced.  And you don't need a printer, other than to print normal business correspondence.  Hook up with a good local or national professional lab and you can get great prints and great support.  One idea I have found useful is to put your wish list on Amazon, and drop some hints around the holidays and other occasions.  Your family will appreciate knowing that what they buy you will be put to good use!

There you go!  By following these ten steps, you can take your vision of being a pro photographer and make it a reality!  What are you waiting for?

How to Make Yourself Jump Higher in Two Easy Steps

How to Make Yourself Jump Higher in Two Easy Steps

Jump Starter

Have you ever wanted to know how to make yourself jump higher? Have you ever seen Kobe, LeBron or even someone at your school or on an outside court dunking and wondered if you could do the same? Look yourself on your own... you can't. However with the help of the little known tips in this article you can!

Tip 1 - Perform Jordan Jumps

Jordan Jumps are named after Michael Jordan who did them every other day. You want to stand with a straight back and very slightly bent knees; only bend them enough so that you don't have rigidly straight legs. Make sure that your feet are a shoulder width apart, and rest your hands on the back of your head.

You want to jump as high as you can, with your hands staying on your head. Make sure that you keep your back straight but bring your knees up as high as you can before landing and standing up into your starting position again. You want to do 15-20 of these per set and try to do 5 sets and work your way up to doing 10 sets at a time.

Tip 2 - Nutrition

This is the most overlooked and misunderstood aspect when people, especially basketball players want to learn how to make yourself jump higher, It's not a case of cutting down on food, how to stave yourself, make recipe or how diet works. Yes, if you look yourself in the mirror and you're overweight then you can jump higher if you loose some fat.

3 Easy Steps to Starting a Business With Practically No Overhead Costs

3 Easy Steps to Starting a Business With Practically No Overhead Costs

Jump Starter

It has always been the American dream to start a business and have it become extremely profitable with little work. The fact is, it's not only an American dream, but actually a world wide dream. Nearly everyone wants to find some way of making money without having to deal with bosses, schedules, or having to commute to work. People want to stay in the comfort of their own home and work as little as possible to be able to live life to the fullest.

In this article, I will let you know 3 simple facts to starting a business. If you play your cards right, it is very simple to start making a lot of money with minimal work and minimal costs.

The first step is finding or making a plan. You will have a very small chance of success if you jump into starting a business without a plan. One needs to know where they are going and how to get there. The best thing to have when starting a business plan is a coach. Someone who has been down that road before and that has become successful doing it.

It may be hard to find a coach or mentor that is willing to put their time and energy into helping you. If you follow the link below you will find that I have found someone that was willing to put his time and effort into helping you out. He has spent years upon years perfecting his plan. All you need to do is carbon copy what he is doing and you are sure to succeed.

The second step is to make sure you follow through with the plan. Do not make a plan and decide to quit. A lot of people get bummed out after the initial planning and give up. A lot of those people probably could have made a lot of money, but instead they quit. It can be a variety of different reasons. Maybe a friend or family member telling you that you will not succeed or maybe you think it will cost too much money. Whatever the case may be, you need to stick to the plan and execute it.

Step three is simply keeping the ball rolling. Lot's of people start out with a great plan, continue to follow through with it, but somewhere down the line decide that they don't wish to continue. A large percentage of these people are either impatient or they want the money to fall into their lap without any work whatsoever. I'm sorry to break it to you folks, but there is no "get rich quick" scheme. There is no way of making money without any work whatsoever. BUT there is a way to make a very decent living with minimal work so that you can enjoy life instead of working through it.

Jump Rope to Burn Belly Fat!

Jump Rope to Burn Belly Fat!

Jump Starter

In America, many people are struggling with their weight. In fact, recent reports suggest up to 30% of the entire adult population is in the obese category! In addition, much of that extra weight is being carried in the mid-section which is the serious pre-curser for heart attack.

Experts agree, you can lose that ugly belly fat by doing cardio workout on a regular basis. The jump rope workout routine, that is easily done in the privacy of your own home is an excellent method to amp up the calorie burn which results in weight loss and overall body tone.

Well, you might be saying -- "that's great for someone who is already fit -- I can barely jump a couple of times -- much less for several minutes!" But jump rope fitness is for everyone.

There are a couple of ways to add jump rope workouts into your routine -- even if you are starting from a low-fitness level.

Traditional jump roping routines are done with ropes with a handle on each end. The handles and the rope itself can be "weighted" to add an extra zing to the workouts. These traditional jump ropes are for people of above average fitness level and coordination levels. They also require ceilings that are high enough to accommodate the swing of the rope.

Alternative jump ropes are actually rope-less! They have the handles of normal jump ropes, but the actual rope is only a foot or so, hanging from each handle. The end of the rope is weighted to give the "feel" of the swinging rope, but your feet never even need to leave the floor with these "ropes."

The advantage of the rope-less jump rope workouts, is that anyone can do them. You modify the intensity based on your personal fitness levels. If you want to start slow and have a low impact work-out, that is easy to achieve by simulating the jumping motions.

You can work up to high impact jumping, still without having to worry about getting tangled in the rope and best of all, it can be done anywhere -- no need for high ceilings.

Just by adding some additional cardio with your jump rope workout -- you'll be on the way to melting that stubborn belly fat!

Happy Hopping!

BMX - The Superman Jump

BMX - The Superman Jump

Jump Starter

If you love showing off on your BMX and you think you are getting good enough to step up to the crazy tricks that the pros do, you will want to try the Superman no-footer. If you can land this mother and ride away with style you are going to look pretty damn cool. This is not for the beginner so make sure you can do some regular 'no footers' with confidence before you embark on this one....

Step one

To start with you are going to need to find a jump that's gonna give you plenty of hang-time, especially when your learning. A table top with a ten foot gap should be a good starter. You can progress to longer faster jump when you build up your confidence.

Step two

Approach the ramp with enough speed to get you easily across, you don't want to be half way though your superman pose and realise you're not gonna make it.

Step three

As soon as you lift off the ramp, slide your feet off two the sides. Do this gently so you don't push the bike away, if you do you wont be able to get it back in time and probably end up in a nasty tangle of limbs and bent metal.

Step four

Push the bike out in front of you smoothly, don't jerk or else you'll lose it, extend your arms into the Superman position, you should be able to get your body flat and horizontal so put your feet together and straighten your legs as if flying like a speeding bullet. The bike should be out in front and parallel with your body.

Step five

Hopefully you are at the apex of your jump about now and no further because the hardest part is still to come. Just because you got into the Superman position it won't count for much until you nail the landing. So start pulling you feet up towards the bike now...

Step six

Get back on the bike as you plummet towards the landing area; make sure you are coming in straight and level. You'll probably need to pull the back of the bike up a bit for a smooth landing

Step seven

Land it, smoothly and in control. Roll to a stop, get off and take a bow and soak up the applause.

Josh Smith Dunk Or How To Increase Vertical Jump

Josh Smith Dunk Or How To Increase Vertical Jump

Jump Starter

Josh Smith from the Atlanta Hawks is a hell of a dunker. In fact, the 6' 9'' small forward may now have the highest vertical in the NBA (41-inch). The 2005 Slam Dunk Champion had more dunks (101) last season (2006-2007) than Vince Carter (86), Shaquille O'Neil (83), Kobe Bryant (59) or Dwyane Wade (59)!

"I first learned how to dunk at age 13, going from seventh grade to eighth. I was going in for a layup and I kept rising, so I figured let's keep going here, and I dunked it." - Josh Smith

The 22 year old always had decent jumping ability, but that doesn't mean he doesn't work on it at all. Far from it! Just about every morning of the NBA off-season Smith heads down to the gym. There, he spends a lot of time on two things: lifting and plyometrics. Josh Smith' jumping program has two essential elements, both of which focus on:

strength and quickness

The first part of the workout consists of Olympic-style weightlifting moves like the push press and hang clean, which combine traditional strengthening exercises with plyometric-like moves.

The second part is all about the plyometrics themselves. Plyometrics work the lengthening contraction of a muscle and then follow it quickly with a concentric contraction, which has particular benefits for basketball players looking to jump higher and more quickly.

If your legs are already strong enough (that means you have been training your legs for some time), you can add the following elements to your workout twice a week for the power and quickness you need to rise in the air for a dunk. If not, you first have to establish a basic leg strength to avoid injuries.

Push Press:

Hang Clean:

How to Jump Start a Car - Simple Step-By-Step Instructions

How to Jump Start a Car - Simple Step-By-Step Instructions

Jump Starter

Wondering how to jump start a car? If so, then keep reading. This article will guide you step-by-step on how to test a battery, hook up a battery, and how to start a car using nothing but a pair of jumper cables and another working vehicle.

This article assumes that you already have a set of good jumper cables (or can borrow a set), and a working car to give you the jump start. It also assumes that you have both cars positioned close enough for the jumper cables to reach each vehicle.

NOTE: You should always use safety equipment if you have it. A good set of gloves and safety glasses should be an essential part of your roadside emergency kit.

Locate both of the RED, positive (+) clamps on the set of jumper cables, as well as the black or negative (-) clamps. Jumper cables are usually color-coded to make things easier to use - and less dangerous. Ensure that the vehicle containing the GOOD battery is not running and the ignition is turned off in both vehicles. Connect the RED clamp to the positive (+) post on the DEAD battery. Next, connect the other RED clamp to the positive (+) post of the GOOD battery. Third, connect the BLACK clamp to the negative (-) post of the GOOD battery. Here's the tricky part. DO NOT connect the remaining BLACK clamp to the negative post of the dead battery. You will now need to find and connect it to a bit of exposed metal. This can sometimes be a bolt, or piece of the chassis under the hood. You will know that you have a good connection when you see a tiny spark when you connect the final clamp. Warning: If you connect the final clamp directly to the negative post of the dead battery, you run the risk of igniting the highly flammable hydrogen, coming from the battery. Start the car containing the GOOD battery. Wait at least 5 minutes. Attempt to start the car containing the dead battery. If the car doesn't start, you may need to wait longer than 5 minutes, especially in colder weather. When the car containing the dead battery finally does start, you will need to remove the jumper cables as soon as possible. However, you will need to remove them in reverse order, starting with the black clamp that was connected to the exposed piece of metal.

That is how to jump start a car.

If your car battery needs to be jump started on a regular basis, it may be time to replace the battery. When batteries get old, they have more trouble holding enough power to start a car. A good battery typically costs less than 0 (sometimes much less) and is well worth the money, in my opinion.

Also, if you are frequently needing to jump start cars or trucks (not necessarily your own), check out the Schumacher PSJ2212 Jump Starter. It's the only way that I know how to jump start a car without another car around.

How to Correctly Dive Off a Starting Block

How to Correctly Dive Off a Starting Block

Jump Starter

If you are a competitive swimmer in the pool or hope to do so, learning to correctly dive off the starting block is something you need to learn and be good at. Having a good start is important to getting good times in your event, but not as important as good swim technique. Watch the best swimmers to see what their technique is and learn.

What is the method of diving off the block? While standing on the block, place one of your feet at the forward edge with toes over edge. Which foot you use is up to you. Place the other foot behind you about a shoulders width distance, face towards the pool.

When you hear" take your mark" lower yourself till your chest is about to your thigh, grab the edge of the block with your hands. Remain still until you hear the next command to go. Also at this point you should be leaning far enough forward that you feel you may fall.

At the start signal, jump forward while at the same time pushing with your legs and your arms. Once in the air move your arms out to your front in a streamlined position. When you enter the water keep you head tucked in and straighten out your body so you do not go deep, you want to keep close to the surface. Immediately start your kick after entering the water.

As important the start is, don't spend too much time practicing it. You need to work on your swim technique more than learning to dive. Make sure your goggles are on tight so they do not come off when you hit the water, this will mess up your concentration because your goggles will probably be around your face.

Cless by Rainman Hibiki by HSR Alot of my subscribers remember this match from a long time ago. (you know when there all that flamming crap and all that stuff) Well one thing HSR updated Hibiki. She's still as dangerous as ever. I uploaded both fights against her. She loves to counter attack everything but she's not very good at defending against projectiles I noticed. Hibiki will kill anyone who's stupid enough to try a combo starter or an aerial jump in. Also check out my first double KO that probably should have registered as a win for Hibiki.

7 Reasons Why Starting Your Own Business in an Economic Downturn is a Grand Idea

7 Reasons Why Starting Your Own Business in an Economic Downturn is a Grand Idea

Jump Starter

Starting your own business in an economic downturn is a plucky rather than reckless thing to do. It's certainly not for the faint-hearted.

With the economy in a downturn there is a great deal of uncertainty in the air. Some folks are clinging desperately to their jobs, afraid to seek other opportunities despite the fact that they are unhappy in their current position. Thousands are reeling from being abruptly dismissed from a job that was bringing in a sizable income and thousands more can expect to face ax over the coming months.

Yet, these are precisely the reasons why you should be considering starting your own business or looking at ways in which you can boost an existing business.

So here are 7 reasons why starting your own business in a downwardly spiralling economy is a grand idea:

1. Control your destiny

Do you want your future in someone else's hands or yours? If you run your own business you are responsible for its success. Yes, it's a big responsibility but you can succeed in business even during a recession. Instead of living in fear live in anticipation of the new opportunities that each day will bring.

2. Write your own pay cheque

If you are working for someone else, unless you are a commissioned salesperson, then your pay cheque is fixed. As a business owner you can decide your level of pay. Okay, you might not immediately achieve your desired income but once you do, you can simply work on improving your business skills and expanding your business so that you continually increase your level of income.

3. End the daily rush-hour commute

Commuting to and from work can be a very stressful experience. Did you know that 9am on Monday mornings is the time when most heart attacks occur? If you have a job you generally have to travel at peak times when the roads and the public transportation systems are crowded and congested. It's not the best way to start and or end your working day. Instead, how about a 60s commute to your home office? Think about the time you'll save and what you can accomplish in that time.

4. Set your own working hours

When you work for someone else they generally decide your working hours and even the times at which you can take breaks. Work for yourself and you can choose your working hours. You can take time off to spend with your children or to take care of an elderly or convalescing relative.

5. Decide where you want to work

Naturally, this will depend upon the type of work that you do but many occupations allow for great flexibility regarding you choose to work. In many cases, individuals decide to relocate and work in a different country or even travel and work so that they can experience life in several countries. Individuals with an Internet-based business may simply want to take advantage of a beautiful day and work outdoors. It certainly beats being stuck in a cubicle.

6. Choose your team

At work you generally do not get to choose who you work with and some members of your team can be a living nightmare to work with. If you have you own business you can choose your team. Hiring the right individuals for a particular role is a highly skilled task but there's great expert advice available such as from Brad Smart of TopGrading. And here's another thing, a down economy is a great time to scout for top talent.

7. Follow your passion

The majority of people dissatisfied with their current jobs but they stick it out because they have bills to pay. This is the worst reason to be in a job when you can do something you enjoy and are passionate about and get paid. You don't have to jump ship and go full-time into starting your own business. You can start on a part-time basis and when you're earning enough to take care of your monthly bills and have money set aside for at least six months living expenses you can abandon your J.O.B. and start living your dream.

Building Your Vertical Jump

Building Your Vertical Jump

Jump Starter

Training to increase your vertical jump isn't rocket science. All you need is a bit of background and a few exercises to get you started.

Read on

Your vertical jump comes from a specific type of muscle - lets call it 'fast-twitch' muscle. You also have two other types of muscle that are involved to different degrees in jumping. But lets keep this simple.

To train the fast-twitch muscles you need to train with low rep - high intensity workouts. This training targets the muscles that are most active in giving an explosive vertical jump and so will give the greatest results in the least amount of time.

A few exercises to get you started are listed below

Calf raises
This exercise targets your calves which give the final push upwards in your jump. To increase intensity of this work out use either a weight vest or dumbbells - one in each hand for balance. To do this exercise start standing straight then push upwards as strongly as you can so that all your weight rests on your toes. You shouldn't leave the ground. Then slowly lower yourself to starting position.

Squats
This exercise develops your quads which are the main muscles in jumping. Start by standing in front of a chair. To increase intensity of this workout use a weight plate and hold it to your chest with both arms. Stand with legs shoulder width apart and knees slightly bent. Slowly lower yourself until your bum just touches the edge of the chair seat. Explode back upwards as fast as you can to starting position.

Lunges
This exercise targets your hamstrings, another group of muscles essential for an explosive vertical jump. Use a weight vest or two dumbbells to increase the intensity of this exercise. Stand up straight with your legs together. Step forwards with one leg, leaving the other leg behind. You should end up with your forwards leg bent at the knee and the thigh parallel to the ground. Your trailing leg should be extended behind you and only slightly bent at the knee. Explode back upwards to starting position.

Skipping
Skipping isn't something that fits in perfectly with the high intensity training of vertical training but is important none the less. Skipping teaches your muscles the technique of jumping and improves stamina and agility. It is also around 4 times as good for you than running - ie. skipping for 15 minutes is the equivalent of running for an hour. It is hands down one of the best things for developing a massive vertical jump.

Start with these 4 workouts and you will be well on your way to throwing down the rock!

4 Jumping Exercises to Increase Vertical Leap Fast

4 Jumping Exercises to Increase Vertical Leap Fast

Jump Starter

Speed and strength are important components of athletes movement. With improved power, an athlete's overall performance is enhanced including an increase vertical leap.

Various Jumping exercises such as jumping, bounding and hopping have been used in many various ways to enhance performance, and increase vertical leap.

Not only are jumping exercises beneficial to the athletes performance, it increases the fitness.

The following jumping exercises have been used and tested by athletes and trainers to increase vertical leap, and performance.

Listed below are 4 lower body jumping exercises to increase vertical leap-

1) Bounds - Commence jogging followed by a push off with the right leg, and with an extended stride bring the left leg forward (knee bent and thigh parallel to the floor).

At the same time, the left arm should reach forward for further momentum. Attempt to hold the extended stride for a brief time, and then land on the left foot and immediately leap forward again.

To maximise this jumping exercise, continue to perform the extended stride continuously on each foot and cover as much distance as possible.

Recommended sets are one to three set over 30-40 metres.

2) Hurdle Hopping - This jumping exercise involves the hip and knee for jump movements. The hurdles are set in a row, and spaced at an appropriate distance away.

Whilst standing straight on 2 feet, jump forward over the hurdles and then immediately spring or jump over the next hurdle.

Lift with your knees together, tucked against the chest and land on the balls of the feet, and immediately continue the next jump exercise sequence over the subsequent hurdles.

Use both arms to swing up for balance and increase vertical leap.

Recommended sets are one to three sets over 6 to 8 hurdles(36 inches high) for this jumping exercise.

3) Single Leg Hopping - The aim of this jumping exercise is to stand on one leg, and push off from the standing leg, jumping forward and landing on the same leg.

Use the opposite leg as a balance and for forward motion. With each jump, aim to jump higher.

Recommended jumping exercise set is one to three over 30-40 metres.

4) Tuck Jumps - Standing straight, jump up grabbing both knees to the chest.

As the feet return to the starting position, land on the balls of the feet and immediately spring up in a quick upward motion.

Again with this jumping exercise, aim to jump higher with each spring.

Recommended vertical jumps for this jumping exercise is one to three sets of 10 repetitions.

Note that if this is your first attempt at these jumping exercises, it is always advisable to consult with a personal trainer for maximum performance and prevent injuries.

The jumping exercises above are just only a few, and aimed to to increase vertical leap.

In addition, these suggested jumping exercises plays part in your continual practice of vertical leap performance.

As always, the quality of each jumping exercise is far more important than quantity.

Therefore focus on the technique of each jumping exercise for optimal results.

The better the quality, the better the form of each jumping exercise, which will have an impact on improved power, and an increase vertical leap.

Start the workout small and progressively increase the workout over a period of time. That means it is not necessary to do jumping exercises 7 days a week. Look at 3 to 4 days a week, allowing the muscles to rest.

Also, performing the jumping exercises too often will often lead to boredom, and consequently lack of motivation. The idea with these jumping exercises is to workout less for optimal results.

Importantly keep track of each jumping exercise. Note the repetitions, distance and height of each jumping exercise.

Once you have grasped the 4 jumping exercises, look at varying the routine with more unique jumping exercises that will add more strength to your increasing vertical leap and fitness.

Some other suggested jumping exercises are split jumps, standing jump from height, depth jump from a box. If you want more unique jumping exercises (or plyometric exercises) that will truly unleash your vertical leap, check out the link below.

Finally, before any workout, it is vital that you warm up and stretch the muscles before and after any jumping exercise.

Throughout this century, jumping exercises have been used successfully by many athletes as a method of training to increase vertical leap.

Polymer Clay Starter Kit

Polymer Clay Starter Kit Video Clips.

Hi! I hope you enjoy todays video! Polymer Clay is such great fun and this kit would be brilliant for someone just starting out. What I'd recommend is polymer clay (SculpeyIII is good for beginners) in red , blue , yellow -the primary colours - tan , white and black - the neutrals. The findings I suggest having are eye pins, head pins and jump rings. The tools I'd recommend are jewelry pliers, wire cutters, a blade and a cocktail stick. I'd also recommend clear nail polish as a glaze. Red+Yellow=Orange Red+Blue=Purple Yellow+Blue=Green FAQ: *How do you start a collection Ask for clay for Christmas, birthdays etc. Also, try putting any lose change into a pot and pretty soon you'll have enough for a few blocks of clay or findings. *Where do you buy your polymer clay? I buy mine at HobbyCraft (HobbyLobby in the US). They've also started stocking it in Staples. FTC: copyright of chloesclaycreation 2011 ©

Starting the Right Business

Starting the Right Business

Jump Starter

More now than ever before it is becoming the desire of a majority of people to start and succeed in their own business. People are tired of working for someone else and having their dreams deferred while life passes them by. If you are one of the millions thinking about a business to start, I need to ask you a very important question:

What wakes you up in the morning and keeps you up at night?

It is the answer to this question that will lead you to the business that you should start. Your success in life and business depends on the passion you have for what you accomplish everyday.

Before you begin your business venture ask yourself three very important questions?

o What things in life excite me?

o What would make me work through the struggles and accept the risks that could end in failure?

o What sends chills down my spine when I think of doing it well?

If you don't build a business in an area where passion and excitement motivate you everyday, you will ultimately become bored with your business and it will fail. Now understand that when I say fail I don't necessarily mean you will close the doors and turn out the lights. Your business may indeed continue to provide you with income, but it will fail you because your life will loose meaning as you become a slave to a business that bores you!

This is why I struggle so with most pre-packaged online business ventures. They offer you the opportunity for making a lot of money. However money is not all that it is cracked up to be if there is nothing but money to be had in your life. (Otherwise there are some very unique not to mention illegal ways to make lots of money quickly!) In networking as well as franchising and other businesses where you buy into someone else's dream, you either love it forever or it looses its luster rather quickly. That is why even the best of these internet entrepreneurs generally move from company to company looking for the thing that excites them for the time being.

I prefer finding out what really turns my crank and going after it. My dream is the one that wakes me up in the morning and keeps me up at night. Your dream is what will do that for you as well.

So ... before you jump into something that you will hate worse than your job, take some time and answer this question for yourself. When you come up with the answer that is best for you, you will know it. You will not be able to turn from it. It will eat at you and take up valuable time in your day. At that point you can begin the research process that will lead you to creating a value that you can offer to others who have the same interests as you.
